The rules of Bridge
Four players in two pairs, partners opposite. A full pack of 52, thirteen cards each, the ace high.
The auction goes round from the dealer: pass, bid a number of tricks over six in a suit or no trumps, double or redouble, until three passes close it. Four passes throw the hand in, and the same dealer deals again. The last bid is the contract, and the player of that pair who first named its suit is the declarer.
The player after the declarer leads. Then dummy, the declarer's partner, lays their hand face up, and the declarer plays both. Follow suit if you can; the highest trump takes the trick, or else the highest card of the suit led.
Scored deal by deal, the Chicago way, with vulnerability moving over each four deals. A game is four deals unless the table chooses from one to sixteen, and the higher side wins.
