Rummy Express is Indian 13-card rummy for a group travelling together. Everyone plays on their own phone, the phones connect to each other directly, and nobody needs an internet connection, from the first deal to the last declaration.
About Rummy Express
Long train journeys and bus rides have always had a card game in them. Rummy Express keeps the game and drops the pack: no cards sliding off a berth, no one leaning over to deal, no arguments about whose turn it is. One phone hosts the table, the others join it with a short code, and the game keeps count of the scores.
The rules are the ones played at home. Draw and discard, make your sequences and sets, and declare when your hand holds two sequences, at least one of them pure. A cut joker makes its rank wild. A wrong declaration is simply refused, and you keep your turn. Dropping early or late costs the usual points, and scores run on from hand to hand.
The host chooses how many seats, how many decks, which way play goes, and whether the first sequence must be made without a joker. Seats without a player are filled by bots, each with a setting for how closely it follows the play.
Made for the journey
- No internet, no mobile data. The phones talk to each other directly, so a game carries on through tunnels, ghats and stretches with no signal at all.
- Everyone on their own phone. Nobody passes a handset round the compartment, and nobody sees a hand that is not theirs.
- Short of players? Bots take the empty seats, so two friends can still sit down to a full table.
- A dropped link is not the end of the hand. A phone that loses the connection can join the same table again.
- No sign-in and no real money. Install it, open it, play.
