Privacy policy: Rummy Express

Last updated 21 October 2026

The short version

Rummy Express has no server and no account. The phones at a table talk to each other directly, over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or Google Nearby, and a hand of cards exists only on the phones playing it. Nothing about your game is sent to us, because there is nowhere for it to be sent.

The one thing that does leave your phone is what the advertising SDK collects. That section is marked below, and so is the one thing you can choose to send: a picture of a win, if you share it.

What is stored on your device

WhatWhy
The name you registeredSo the other phones can show who is who while a table gathers
Your bots' names and their memory dialsSo the same bots are there next time you seat one
Your table settingsSo a table opens the way you last set it
A table in progressSo the app can put you back at it if the phone is restarted or the app is killed
Bluetooth phones you chose to saveSo a phone you joined once is called first the next time. Only a name and an address the platform gave; you can remove them

All of it stays on the phone, and uninstalling the app removes it. There is no backup to a server, because there is no server.

What leaves your device

To the other phones at your table, and nowhere else: your registered name, the cards the game itself shows everybody, and the moves you make. That is the game being played. It goes over your local Wi-Fi, a direct Bluetooth link, or Google Nearby — never through us.

The host's phone holds the deal, because somebody has to judge a declaration. Your own hand is sent only to your phone.

To Google, for advertising — the game is free and shows ads:

That is collected and used by Google AdMob, not by us; we never see it tied to you. Google's privacy policy and its partner terms describe what it does with it.

Sharing a win

When a game is won, the winning screen has a Share button. It makes a picture of that screen in the app's temporary storage and hands it, with a line of words and a link to the game's page in Google Play, to Android's share sheet. You choose where it goes — a message, a social network, nowhere. The app does not send it anywhere itself, does not ask for access to your files or contacts to do it, and never sees whom you picked. The picture is replaced the next time you share and is cleared by Android when it needs the room.

Consent, and how to change your mind

Where consent is required — the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, and the US states with their own rules — the app asks before any ad is requested, through Google's consent tool, and the advertising SDK is not started until you have answered. You can change your answer at any time: Settings → Privacy choices.

Permissions, and exactly what each is for

PermissionWhat it is forIf you refuse
Nearby devices / Bluetooth (connect, scan, advertise)Finding the phone next to you and holding the link to itBluetooth tables cannot be hosted or joined; Wi-Fi and Nearby still work
Location, on Android 11 and below onlyThe platform tied Bluetooth scanning to it on those versions. It is never read, never stored and never sentBluetooth discovery cannot run on those versions
Wi-Fi state, network state, multicastFinding tables on the same network, and keeping the link alive when the network changesWi-Fi tables cannot be found
InternetThe local network, and the advertising SDKThe game still plays over Bluetooth
NotificationsThe notice shown while a table is runningThe table still runs, but Android is likelier to freeze it
Foreground service (connected device)Keeping the table alive while you look at another app. Without it Android freezes the app and the table loses your seat within seconds—
Wake lockKeeping the link alive during a hand—
Advertising IDMerged in by the advertising SDK—

There is no camera, no microphone, no contacts, no files, no calendar and no precise location anywhere in this app.

Children

This game is not directed at children. Its scores are points, not money: there is nothing to buy, nothing to cash out, and no real-money play of any kind.

Your data rights

We hold nothing about you, so there is nothing for us to show you or delete. For what Google holds against your advertising ID, use your phone's advertising settings, where you can also reset or delete the ID.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
